CC1 - Sem 2, Week 9: Integrated Setup
I had started plugging in and trying out some things with ‘Live’, but this week’s class on linking modulators to parameters and demo patch has got the imagination buzzing. Focus on keeping it simple! I figure the best way to go would be to create my ‘instrument’ in Plogue; ie design a custom setup integrating required software units in a workable order specific to the ‘player’, namely myself, so as to get the most creatively out of the technology as comfortably as possibly in a performance situation.
I looked at the patch on Sunday and had not much idea, but within a second of Brad reminding me of the parameter linking it all fell into place. Yet another level to the dynamic Plogue software revealed.
Once up and running, Brad doodled on guitar whilst I investigated settings. Went straight for a take with me tweaking, Brad playing. Found when changing values, clicking audio. Computer not keeping up with processing? All I know is that it wasn’t nice. What was nice was the new 5.1 surround setup in the studio. We investigated the way Christian had setup the 5.1 in the patch, but we worked in stereo as the final medium for this work was going to be stereo.
After 2 minutes, we stopped recording and swapped. I diddled around on guitar, experimenting with the effects and playing whatever the sound inspired. Toward the end, I start to attempt playing rhythmically with the pulsing of the delays.
